'Almita' is 26ft LOA She has a lifting keel yacht with a spoon bow and counter stern and is rigged as a gaff cutter. Centreplate drops down through a ballast keel she only draws 2ft 6ins, when it's raised.
A previous owner for a number of years was Journalist Dick Durham, he reviewed her performance in Yachting Monthly, June 2009 -Gaff vs Bermudan'. He sailed her in both formats of rig. In her present ownership, of over 15 years, time and money have not been spared on her continued maintenance and upkeep. At her last survey report 2018, there were NO recommendation to be made........
She sits in the water on a mud berth under her bespoke cover. She was not put into commission 2022, her owner now has a larger vessel to sail with his growing family.

Her accommodation is basic and traditional. The open cabin is clean and dry, all joinery and paintwork is in exceptionally good order. Low formed settee berths both sides, Upholstery covered cushioning.
Over the centreboard box is a hard wood dropleaf table.
6 bronze opening portlights around the coach roof , 1 x Fixed oval forward facing.

Construction details: Carvel Pitch Pine on steamed Oak frames. Planking all copper fastened. Caulked seams.
The centreline structure consisting: wooden keel, stem, deadwood and sternpost are of hardwood believed to be oak. The external ballast keel is of cast iron.
The cast iron lifting keel is located in a hardwood trunk and operates through the ballast keel. The lifting mechanism is a wire winch and turning sheaves. Internal ballast, of lead ingots. The bilge area has been painted with grey paint and the paint is clean and adhering well. Her floors are a mixture of oak and bronze straps.
Keel bolts are galvanized steel and have been replaced in recent years.
Decks are of marine plywood on deck beams and carlins, sheathed in GRP/Epoxy cloth and painted.
Rudder blade is of planked hardwood with bronze straps. The rudder stock is of bronze and is located in a bronze tube.
CQR type anchor of 25lb approx 30m of chain in the chain locker.
A Fisherman kedge anchor with warp and short chain i.
A Sampson post is fitted through the fore deck.
Varnished hardwood tiller, steering.
Log and echo-sounder with transducers through the hull.

Outboard engine mounts in a well, built into the hull with a mounting pad and supporting timbers.
A long shaft outboard motor, clamps to a pad in the outboard well. When not in use it stows away in the secure cockpit locker.

Almita is rigged as a gaff cutter with flying jib. Spar material: Varnished Spruce mast and spars / bowsprit.
The mast is deck stepped in a stainless steel tabernacle and compression support for the mast, below in cabin, is a stainless steel compression post.
