The Contessa 34 OOD (Off shore One Design) was designed to sail as an ocean racer, but as a one design it was also built with comfort in mind down below a genuine cruiser with racer performance when you want it. They were also the first production boat to be built with a resin injection moulding process - see further details in the construction section above. Yacht Chameleon is a good quality 1980 OOD 34. Designed by Doug Peterson and built by Jeremy Rogers of Contessa she is in very good condition. A perfect yacht for a young family or for use as a competitive cruiser/racer.

Wikipedia says - The Contessa 26 is a 7.77 meter (25.6 ft) fiberglass monohull sailboat, brought about when Jeremy Rogers, with a background in traditional wooden boatbuilding along with one of his Folkboat customers, David Sadler, created a modified version of the same boat in GRP. Rigged as a masthead sloop, with a deep keel and a hull-mounted rudder, the Contessa 26 was launched in 1966 and early boats proved to be very successful racers, including long-distance events. Jeremy Rogers Limited went on to produce the Contessa 32.

The contessa 33 are well proven and a great design of that generation of yacht. A product of Rob Humphries. There are numerous articles about this design, highlighting their versatility, whether, cruising, racing or short-handed sailing.

1973 Contessa 26ft for sale. Yanmar 1GM10 engine. Priced to sell quickly, as I've bought a new boat. I've had her 5 years, and done plenty of maintenance so she should be pretty trouble-free sailing. Contessa 26 kept at local sailing club stood ashore for the Winter. Last survey was carried out in 2017 which concluded that she was in good condition but needed some TLC and cosmetics. 2019, the engine has been overhauled and new engine mounts were fitted.
