Not many boats of this kind can claim to have circumnavigated the globe, this one has, according to her owner. What's more, this vintage wooden boat appears to be in remarkably good condition thanks to the care of the last two owners: bilges virtually dry, modern electrics and control panel, hull and coamings treated recently. The Lister 30hp engine started effortlessly from cold. Her mainsail looks tired and the mahogany woodwork could do with a polish in some areas. The galley is rather too basic for today's sailors. but this classic still has plenty of life left in her and could make a grea... read more

The deck space is very generous despite the large coach roof, Inside there up to 7 berths. Bought in 1965, as a bare hull, fitted out with the new deck and coach roof, new engine, rig and interior fit out, she was then used as a live aboard for many years and as a family yacht, cruising the east coast and taking part in the... read more

The Heard 28 is a heavy displacement cruising yacht with a GRP hull on the traditional lines of a Falmouth Working Boat. I enlarged the drawing proportionately to a 22.5ft. waterline to produce the resulting Englyn design’ Dr T Harrison Butler was a strong believer in the ‘metacentric shelf formula’ to achieve good balance and handling under sail. The theory held ... read more
