This is a really well looked after and updated example of these popular family cruisers. This First 285 has wheel steering, unlike most which are tiller steered. She has excellent recent sails, and an inventory that includes good electronics, cabin heating and a full cockpit "camper" cover. ‘Millie B’ is a well designed, sturdily built gaff rigged cutter with a long shallow keel and lifting centreplate. She has twin headsails with roller reefing and a large main that can be reefed from the self-draining cockpit. She is comfortable and safe to sail.
She is powered by a reliable and economical Yanmar 1GM10 inboard engine which also charges batteries for the 12v electrical system.
