The Contessa 32 is a classic cruiser-racer, whose combination of speed and seaworthiness was proved in the ill-fated 1979 Fastnet Race. Whilst the interior is small for a "modern" 32-footer, a Contessa can make passages in weather that will keep most other boats firmly in harbour. This 1979 example has been in the same ownership for 30 years, has been re-engined, and has some nice additions such as a removable Neptune windvane self-steering gear, and telescopic aluminium beaching legs that can stow below. The Oyster Lightwave 395 is a fast racer-cruiser, this example No 19 of 31 built, having been in the same ownership since 2006. Early in his ownership the present owner raced her, often in shorthanded races, but for some years now has mostly used her as a fast cruiser. The hull was epoxied in 2021, and the engine was replaced with a Yanmar 3YM30AE in 2015.

This Westerly 33 is a much-travelled example of these solid, powerful cruising yachts. In the same ownership for over 25 years, she has been used for family cruising, and the present owner also sailed her in the OSTAR single-handed transatlantic race in 2009, finishing third in class. She has a good inventory including radar and autopilot, and the hull had a full osmosis treatment in 2017/18.

This is a really well looked after and updated example of these popular family cruisers. This First 285 has wheel steering, unlike most which are tiller steered. She has excellent recent sails, and an inventory that includes good electronics, cabin heating and a full cockpit "camper" cover. The interior is in immaculate condition, and the dark blue hull also looks very good indeed. This yacht is the "Clipper" version, which includes some nice extras over the basic specification. The British Hunter Channel is one of few modern build and style yachts that offer this much more versatile twin keel version, with good performance and well fitted accommodation. This Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 34.2 was built in December 1997 and launched in 1998. She is a comfortable modern cruising yacht with a very attractive interior. Bought by the present owners in early 2023 and fitted with some new kit to be ready for a long cruise to Portugal and back, the yacht arrived back in Falmouth in late October this year, and is about to be lifted ashore. The owners are now working in the USA.

The Southerly 100 is a Dick Carter design, one of the few really shallow draught modern yachts available. She has a pilot house with interior steering, and a cast iron ballast plate protecting the keel and bottom when grounding. We sold this yacht to the present owner 10 years ago, and since then he has very comprehensively upgraded and equipped her. She is now ashore in Hampshire and for sale now only for the owner's health reasons.

Built in 1982-84 and launched in 1985, this Tradewind 35 is a moderately heavy displacement long-keeled yacht. This example has a Hydrovane self-steering gear and wind generator on the stern, and excellent sails. She was coppercoated in early 2021. Internally she is in nice condition, with good upholstery and Mikuni blown air heating. In the present ownership for 14 years, she is for sale now only because of a bereavement.
