1986 Trapper 300 The Trapper 300 is a sporty yet comfortable cruiser racer which should be equally at home coastal cruising with a family as she is club racing around the cans. Easily handled by a couple in cruising mode, she will also provide satisfying performance under sail. This example is clean and tidy below decks, appears to have a well serviced Yanmar main engine and adequate navigation aids for coastal work. A little TLC would certainly be in order with regard to external cosmetic condition but a pressu... read more
1982 Hunter Impala The Hunter Impala is a well known and greatly admired one design cruiser racer made by Hunter Yachts. She is easy to handle and rewarding to sail. This very yacht has gained frequent success in local yacht club racing. She benefits from a 2017 suit of racing sails plus numerous older sails which would be suitable for practice or cruising. Mechanical propulsion is catered for by a high thrust 8hp Yamaha outboard in a cockpit well. While primarily a racing yacht, many double as fast cruisers too, ... read more
2005 Ocqueteau 645 We have had many of these 645's through our hands over the years. She has been dry stored ashore and only launched to be used locally in good weather. Being in the dry storage rack can account for some of her well preserved condition, the current owner can take the credit for the rest. The appeal of the 645 is wide ranging. For a compact boat, they have many features which belie their size. The French designers really know how to arrange the layout to utilise all the space sensibly. She has a se... read more
1987 Beneteau First 325 It was not by mistake that Beneteau has become the largest European boat builder, it is their ability to design and build successful yachts. The Beneteau First 325 is a popular yacht from this yard, she is easy to sail, handles well and can look after her crew in all conditions. She has the benefit of being the shoal draft version and has the ability to dry out. She comes with a set of beaching legs. This particular vessel has been owned from new by her owner, a very experienced yachtsman, who... read more
1979 Sadler 32 £16,750
1979 Sadler 32 The Sadler 32 was launched as a modernised successor to the fantastic Contessa 32. Not everyone, especially in the racing world, thought it a big improvement but, she is a thoroughly robust and well constructed open water cruiser that will look after her crew when the weather turns foul. The Sadler is still very much a cruiser racer, but the emphasis here is more on the cruiser, as might be deduced from the wide screen TV, multiple solar chargers and the extended battery bank; not to mention t... read more
1988 Sigma 38 £32,500
1988 Sigma 38 The sigma 38 is just about my favourite fast 38ft cruiser from the 1980's. Favourite because they were the choice of the RAF Sailing Association for many years, and in SAFSA's 'Red Arrow' I cut my Yacht Master teeth , so to speak. A one design, which for many people was an out and out racer, nevertheless they also proved to be a comfortable and sea-kindly cruising yacht, easily handled by a competent couple or small crew. Our example here has brought home many a trophy for her current owner on o... read more
1973 Hustler 35 £9,950
1973 Hustler 35 The sweet lines of the Hustler 35 immediately mark her out as an offshore classic. A yacht capable of looking after herself and crew in a blow and who's horizons extend to palm fringed coral beaches. She is not a floating apartment, designed to entertain hordes of guests in the marina having made a short hop up the coast ; which nevertheless she'd have a stab at if pushed! No, she's a long legged ocean greyhound and one that I have personally admired for close on thirty years, albeit from a dis... read more
1972 Westerly Centaur 2019 is the year that we celebrate 50 years of the Westerly Centaur, an iconic design from the pen of Laurent Giles. I remember being at the London Boat Show when the Westerly Centaur was launched onto the market. There were 2,444 made, making them the most successful british design. She is renowned for her seaworthy abilities making her a good family boat or a single hander and she has the advantage of being able to dry out on sandy beaches or harbours and to use drying moorings. This example h... read more
1968 Wing 25 £4,950
1968 Wing 25 The Mudie/Van de Stadt designed Wing 25 is one of my favourite 'pocket yachts', with an enviable reputation for sea keeping and sure-footed handling in all conditions. She's a perfect size for single handing but can accommodate four in relative comfort for coastal and longer cruises. Our example here has been in the same ownership for the last 19 years and her owner has endeavoured to keep her 'in character' by upgrading where necessary but retaining original and correct period motor, winches et... read more
2007 Evolution 33 The Evolution 33 is a really good looking fishing vessel which is ruggedly built and capable of withstanding arduous conditions. She has been maintained to a high standard and is well looked after. She has just been anti-fouled and professionally polished in January 2019. The accommodation has 4 berths, 2 single berths in the forward cabin and the dinette converts to a double berth. 2012 Falkland Fisher Offshore 600 This is quite a rare boat, with only a couple of this this model being in private use as this one is. The majority of the others are used in a commercial application such as fish farms and other such offshore support roles. A roomy, solid and comfortable boat, she is a really interesting vessel. She has a very cleverly designed use of space, with a large cockpit, but also with an incredibly roomy and well appointed wheelhouse, it is not common to get both those features on a boat of this size. 1991 MG Spring 25 Anyone with an interest in yachting in the mid 1980's may well remember 'Howard's Way' - that riveting TV soap, a tale of glamorous yachting folk, grumpy Jack Rolfe of the Mermaid Yard, and some devious dodgy dealings and fashionable ladies! If you do remember all that, then you'll surely know all about the revolutionary wing keeled Spring 25 which was heavily featured (alongside the ULDB, but that's another story!) and our example which we have just listed could possibly be as good as it get... read more
2006 Maxum 2600 SE What an impeccably clean and well presented boat! It is always a treat to go on-board a vessel and find the owner to be a bit OCD. This is somewhat rare, but here we have a beautiful example of a well equipped and well loved boat. Fitted with my favourite V8 (350 MAG) and coupled to the best of outdrive legs, the Bravo lll with duo props. She is big enough to be comfortable, yet small enough to be sensible for berthing, lifting, storing etc. Someone is going to love this boat , I do already........ read more

Sea Ray are one of the premium brands from the US, the 280 Sundancer is one of their most popular models, Volvo Diesel KAD 44, recent comprehensive service, full title papers including original VAT receipt, used on freshwater and generally a well found example. What's not to like.... If there is any criticism, it would only be that the cockpit covers are a little tired, but perfectly serviceable. These boat details are subject to contract. 1989 Channel Island 22 This is a very together and well found example of the popular channel 22. They have a good reputation for their sea-keeping qualities and the robust build and fit -out. This example has been looked after and much loved. For the last few years she has been on a dry stack, only launched on nice days for a bit of pottering up the river. She has been seen by us motoring around quite happily and I for one have always admired her when I have seen her on the pontoon (next to my own boat). She is ashore... read more
2004 Boston Whaler 190 Nantucket I have to declare a biased opinion about this boat, I absolutely love Boston Whalers and indeed I have owned one. Always regretted selling it when I did. They are without doubt the very best built centre consul fishing boat available anywhere in the world. It is no accident that they are also (by volume) one of the largest producers of boats in the world. This one is in really well found condition. she has not been exposed to the sun or the rain as she has an all-over cover and has also lived in... read more

2009 Salterns Tela What might be described as a 'Barn Find' this exceptionally pretty day sailer has hardly seen the water in her ten years of life. Small enough to be towed by any family car, able to fit into a garage yet reported to sail and feel like a 'proper yacht' she has a lightly used Honda 2.3 hp aircooled outboard and a purpose built un-braked road trailer. Ideal for lakes and estuary sailing the Tela is praised for her balance and ease of control and her ability to carry a family crew in some comfort a... read more
2000 Beneteau Oceanis 361 Clipper Roomy and pleasant accommodation below decks, an easily handled rig and comfortable cockpit above, make the Beneteau 361 a popular choice in the sunny charter world but equally competent and at home in British waters. Berths for six allow guests to be entertained afloat but perhaps she is more suited to a family, or one or two couples, for extended cruising due to the necessary limited stowage possible in a 36ft yacht. Her simple rig is also appealing to the single hander and the present owner c... read more
1970 Cantieri navali Chiavari 22 Metre This Italian designed yacht stands out from the rest. She has had an extensive upgrade and refurbishment by her fastidious owner. 2007 Karnic 2260 Weekender This is a boat we know well, having sold it to the current (second) owner about 7 years ago. During that time I have seen how well it has been looked after and enjoyed on the rare nice days in the summer. She is berthed very near my own boat, not that I am spying but you cant help but take an interest in a boat you sold which is then your neighbour. 2000 Bavaria 51 Ocean A rare example (and 2nd build) of the flagship of the original Bavaria Yachts (ie before they went bankrupt for the first time) in year 2000. In those days, Bavaria built strong and stable boats and this model won the Best Boat award at Dusseldorf Boatshow (the largest show in Europe) in 2000. Only 7 are believed to have been built. This and the smaller 47ft sister are unique in having an aft deck extension which provides a platform for carrying a dinghy on top and liferaft below. So, while th... read more
1987 Vancouver 28 I have more than a soft spot for the Vancouver 28, having dreamed and lusted after one, and finally found myself the proud owner of such, when I took early retirement from my RAF career. A more capable and rugged cruising yacht of her length and displacement would be hard to find and our example here has had, for the last fourteen years, the care and attention of a very competent owner who has seemingly spared no expense in her upkeep. The list of replacements and additions is too long to list ... read more
1985 William Van Kleef 14 M This particular steel Van Kleef 14m has proved herself a very capable and sure-footed craft. She has cruised extensively and without incident for 6 years, taking in the Atlantic coast of Spain and Portugal, The Canary Islands, crossed the Atlantic and extensively cruised the Caribbean. After a safe passage back home across the Atlantic, the skipper had 'scratched the itch' and placed her for sale. She may not be bristling with all the modern and complicated equipment sometimes to be found on a b... read more
1988 Beneteau First 35S5 The Beneteau First 35S5 is a stylish, roomy, fast cruiser with good accommodation and with her powerful rig and deep fin keel she makes a very good 'round the cans' club racer too. 2008 Bavaria 34 This is a good example of a Bavaria 34 with the safety package which incorporates D rings in the cockpit and a wire lifeline runs from bow to stern for safety harnesses. The stacker pack makes it much simpler to put the sails away and she has a gas kicker fitted for ease of reefing. The boat has had little use and externally and internally is in good... read more
2016 Viko S21 £15,750
2016 Viko S21 Here we have a very modern and well constructed lightweight yacht from a respected Polish yard. Conceived as a trailer sailor with lifting keel and rudder, our example has a fixed fin with torpedo bulb. This enhances her ballast, stability and upwind performance but inhibits her trailing possibility. She is clean and dry and though facilities are basic she would be suitable for coastal, estuaries and inland waters for cruising or club racing. Her Design Category C means that she is designed for ... read more
1979 Golden Hind 31 The Maurice Griffiths designed Golden Hind 31 was once considered to be the epitome of an affordable, shoal draught, 'Blue Water' cruiser. Originally built in marine ply to Lloyd's specifications later examples, such as ours, were produced with GRP hull and wooden deck and coachroof. 'Ocean capable' in the right hands, many examples have indeed found those elusive palm fringed atolls and sun kissed anchorages, of which most of us just dream. This example has been well used and loved and has a su... read more
1979 Achilles 24 The Achilles 24 is always a keenly sought after cruiser/racer locally. She performs well around the cans, often taking line honours from larger yachts, but is also a comfortable and sea-worthy fast cruiser. The only criticism of the marque is the restricted accommodation, but for someone who prizes sailing quality and performance over caravan comforts the little Achilles is a hard act to beat. The triple keeled version is particularly useful around the Bristol Channel, where the best harbours dr... read more

2001 Beneteau Platu 25 Designed by Farr Yacht Design led by Bruce Farr, the Platu 25 (aka First 25) is a shrunk MUM 40, or so we're reliably informed! An out and out racer with a deep fin keel and bulb (ballast approx 510kg hence a ballast ratio of just over 40%) she has a designed top speed of approx 11kts, in the right conditions clearly, since her 3.3hp motor is purely for marina handling and flat calms. Her accommodation is spartan in the extreme but two cushioned berths are available for the post race party go... read more

2008 KSS R30 Comments from the owner:- This is the background to the building of the racing catamaran " Lilly". Having been a keen racer on the Dart 18 circuit for five years I wanted to race a bigger vessel. Nothing suitable was available. I knew Derek Kelsall and liked his designs and decided to build the KSS-R-30 to his plans. Construction began in an environmentally controlled industrial unit in Abbergavenny in 2004. Building went ahead, to the designer's specifications, using 12mm Airex foam as the co... read more

All in all this is a good looking and well put together little ship and broad horizons await her new skipper! The... read more
2012 AMT 200 DC £23,950
2012 AMT 200 DC This boat is (in my opinion) the perfect set-up. I say this because she is almost identical to my own sportsboat. It is also a sleeping area of course, for the occasional over-night. The cockpit is safe with great shel... read more

1995 D H Grainger Gaff Cutter If ever the cliche' "a Proper Little Ship" meant anything then this must be it! She is a unique slice of yachting tradition harking back to a bygone era. She was designed and built by a local Engineering Company owner who's life has been tied up in this vessel for the last 41 years. She was 16 years in the build and he then spent 25 years sailing her, without an engine or any electronic nav aids. When I asked him about navigation aids his reply was to the effect that all a proper sailor needs ... read more
