The Barbican 33 was designed by Maurice Griffiths, with a shoal draft long keel and centreplate (for which the designer is well known) and has a reputation as a robust high quality and seaworthy cruising yacht. 'Soonah' is a wooden, racing dayboat of the Loch Long One Design class, and is sail no. 47. She was built in 1959 by Alexander Robertson & Co. of Sandbank, on the southern shore of the Holy Loch. Robertson built boats to a very high standard, and 'Soonah' is no exception, with a beautiful varnished mahogany hull. 'Mosquito', Loch Long One Design racing day-boat no. 135, was commissioned by the current owner to be built at the International Boat Building College in Lowestoft. Built in 1991 she was the first new Loch Long One Design boat to be built since building in Scotland stopped in 1966. She was built to a very high standard, with a varnished hull, laid deck, and curved cockpit coaming. This Kestrel 22 has been owned for the last 22 years by me, cruised extensively in the Thames Estuary and along the East Coast, including cross channel to Belgium & Holland. She was trailered here in 2018 and is currently on the hard at Calstock Boatyard on the Tamar. Last sailed in early August but unfortunately due to illness I have to sell.
