**Reduced** 'Dark and Stormy' is a well-equipped Tartan 10 sailing yacht (Bermudian sloop) which was extensively renovated by the previous owner. Her current rigging is in good condition and has been maintained by the local boat yard but has been ashore for the last 18 months and had little use for around 3 years. 'Dark and Stormy' was equipped for cruising and racing with a minimalist interior including sleeping accommodation for 6 people (2 quarter berths, 1 v-berth), heads and a galley with sink and gas cooker. She is fitted with a Beta Marine 13.5 HP diesel engine with folding propeller which was last seen running 18 months ago (when she was last afloat). The generous aft cockpit provides ample space for a number of sailors. There are two sets of complete sails, in addition to various older sails. Unlike most Tartan 10's, 'Dark and Stormy' has a coach roof allowing full standing room in the cabin as well as a reinforced keel and various other hull upgrades (original drawings of all upgrades & relevant paperwork available). Electronics include an ICOM VHF/DSC radio, Garmin 152 GPS, Autohelm, depth & log, sony stereo, navigation lights & domestic appliances. Mooring lines, anchor & ketch, boat hook, life buoy etc. also included. Some work (primarily cosmetic) is required to bring Dark & Stormy back to her former glory e.g. deck repaint, antifoul and general upgrades after 3 years of little use. This boat was acquired for a local scout group to set up a yachting programme but unfortunately it has been unsuccessful due to difficulties in finding qualified instructors resulting in her sale. Lying ashore on Mersea Island, Essex.
