Southampton Water Hampshire UK
Ideal family cruising yacht.
Fore cabin has two full-sized overlapping berths with stowage lockers underneath. Main cabin has settee berth to starboard with dining area that converts to double berth. Quarter berth aft of the galley extends under the cockpit. Berth cushions are cherry red short pile and the curtains are cream and lined with blackout material. The cabin sole is teak and holly striped non-slip varnished ply. Eberspacher heater powered by diesel, not currently connected, but recently serviced.
29hp fresh water cooled Volvo diesel engine with fuel tank capacity of 27 gallons. Stripper rope cutter on prop.
Internal and cockpit dual wheel steering position, although the internal wheel and engine controls were disconnected some time ago to prevent the young grandchildren ‘playing’ at steering the boat.
In-mast reefing main sail and roller-furling genoa can all be controlled by lines led aft to the cockpit. There is also a cruising shute in snuffer bag. Two two-speed self-tailing winches are used for the genoa sheets and two halyard winches for the lines led aft from the mast. The mast also has winches for those lines which are not led aft.
The main anchor is stored in the bows, with chain fed below into the storage locker, and there is a manually operated windlass. The kedge anchor is kept in the cockpit locker, along with the shore-power battery charger, fenders, mooring warps and miscellany. To port in the cockpit is a draining overboard gas bottle locker, and below the helmsman seat a manually operated bilge pump.
Cockpit has a sprayhood and seat cushions, and a cockpit tent provides extra room and shelter when moored or at anchor. Instruments include wind speed and direction, water depth and speed through the water, plus autohelm and compass. Teak slats on seats, teak grating to floor.
The galley has gimballed gas-fuelled stove with oven, grill and two burners, 1.5 sinks, fresh water, filtered and seawater taps, and top entry fridge with ice-making facility. The fridge is best run on shore power or when the engine is in use.
The heads are to starboard opposite the galley, and contain marine wc, washbasin with shower hose, gas-fuelled hot water heater and electric pump to drain shower tray. Storage for personal wash items and first aid kit. Teak grating to floor.
There are three batteries under the cabin sole. The swing keel is raised and lowered with an electric lift or can be manually operated by hydraulic ram.
The navigation area has chart table with storage beneath and a locker under the internal helmsman seat. There is a marine radio and GPS also in the navigation area.
Below the waterline the hull is protected by coppercoat antifouling.
