Buster is a tidy example of this David Thomas design from 1984. In current ownership since 2014, the previous Dutch owner had her for 20 years. She is only being replaced, reluctantly, with a craft more suitable for future plans. Notable features and improvements include:
• Volvo Penta D1-13 diesel (new in 2008) professionally serviced and winterised in current ownership.
• New stern gland and cutlass bearing (January, 2025).
• Stored ashore each winter with cushions, sails, etc stored at home.
• Westaway fully battened mainsail, furling genoa and mainsail cover (2017).
• Spinnaker (Ullman), cruising schute (Crusader) and storm jib (Team). All unknown ages.
• Carbon fibre spinnaker pole.
• Jabsco toilet (2017). Replacement toilet pump assembly (2020). Small holding tank.
• New NASA Clipper instrumentation in 2020 (depth, electromagnetic speed and wireless wind).
• New sprayhood in 2020, with matching cockpit tent.
• Replacement stove and completely new gas system in 2021.
• Garmin GPSmap 620 chart plotter.
• Radio Ocean RO4800 DSC VHF & wireless second station (2015).
• Dometic TCX14 fridge box, 240V AC & 12V DC (2020).
• A full survey from March, 2021 is available for inspection upon request.
• Asking Price: £15995, or nearest offer.
Currently ashore in Emsworth, Buster will be lifted back into the water in late March, 2025. A storage cradle is also available by separate negotiation.
