Jolanta was built over a period of almost 40 years, it was the project of one man, Edgar Gent, to build a boat strong enough to with stand artic waters and sail around Green Land. Although Edgar didn’t make it to Green land 20 years after Jolanta was launched she was sailed there. With a 75mm thick wooden hull Edgar certainly didn’t fail to build a strong boat.
Jolanta has been my home for seven years and has been a joy to both live on and sail, but sadly as I have moved to Oman it is time for Jolanta to move on and fine a new owner.
With such a thick hull and a wood/coal burner on board Jolanta makes an ideal live aboard all year round, especially with generous head room of about 2 meters inside.
The engine works but needs to have some electrical work done as the starter relay is broken, new drive belts are also needed to take the power from the engine to the prop shaft.
Jolanta is 34ft long with a 10ft beam at the widest point with a 6ft6 draft on a full keel.
She is a solid boat that will take you anywhere you are able to sail.
