'Sea Crystal' is a tidy example of this classically styled river cruiser believed built by Marine Projects Ltd in 1973, making her one of the latest models to be produced. This particular model has the benefit of folding partition doors forward of the aft cockpit area, which create an enclosed wheelhouse and cabin area whilst retaining the outdoor cockpit space. The aft cockpit can easily be accessed from both sides and has a full width hinged bench seat that lifts for access to the engine, fuel tank and adjacent bilge. There are additional hatches in the cockpit floor with access to the batteries and general stowage and lockers on both sides for gas bottles and other items.
Double, half-glazed doors lead to the wheelhouse area, which has a fitted hard top, windows and screens all round giving excellent visibility, plenty of storage beneath the floor and in lockers, helm's bench seat to port, co-pilot's chair to starboard, door and folding hatch leading to the main cabin via steps.
There is a raised seating and dinette area to port with storage beneath the seating, a large half height locker forward, and the table drops down to form a double berth; opposite is a large self-contained heads compartment in light blue formica with a sea toilet, fold-up wash basin and shower; forward of the heads is a fitted galley with stainless steel bowl sink, hot and cold taps, formica work top with stowage lockers above and below, and a cooker. The forward cabin can be portioned for added privacy and comprises twin vee berths (with double infill) with storage beneath, integral water tank forward, access to chain locker, and a deck hatch.
The interior is finished with teak effect formica, teak trims, cream linings, upholstery and curtains and blue carpet.
The Project 31 hull is an extended version of the Elysian 27 moulding with the addition of twin bilge keels designed by John Bennett and built by Marine Projects Ltd of Plymouth (now Princess Motor Yachts).
A off white, GRP modified vee hull is bonded to off white moulded GRP topsides and decks, fitted with a matching cockpit roof, stainless steel pulpit rail and stanchions with timber rails, alloy/stainless deck fittings and grab rails, aluminium and PVC gunwale fendering, anodized aluminium window frames with toughened glass, a stainless and timber bathing platform and stainless ladder, navy blue PVC cockpit canopy fitted on a stainless frame.

Navigation lights & compass
Ford 4 cylinder diesel engine coupled to a Volvo 270 outdrive with a single lever engine control. Engine hours of 1107 are according to the engine counter.
12v batteries x 3, 2500w inverter, 12v cabin lighting, solar panel and controller. There is no shore power connection fitted.
