Beautifully appointed and maintained sailing yacht built by Moody to a Bill Dixon design. This is the Mark II model which is renowned for its sailing qualities whatever the weather and her voluminous interior and storage options. "Tantrum" has always been admired locally due to her gleaming hull and general clean appearance. Below decks is no different and whoever is lucky enough to buy this yacht will inherit a meticulously maintained craft.
The engine is the Volvo 2003, 28hp unit which was overhauled in 2005 and will continue to provide many more years of reliable service. The engine has an annual service regardless of the amount of use and in 2017 her shaft seal and cutlass bearing were replaced. The standing rigging was "certified" in 2010 and she boasts recent Kemp sails with new lazy bag and lazy jacks. Those of you who want to do serious offshore cruising will be delighted to know that in 2011, all her keel bolts were replaced as a precautionary measure. Most boats of this era will be showing some degradation to the portlights and deck hatches. Not this one as all her windows and hatches have been reglazed making her look pristine. She is a truly lovely boat and will not disappoint. Early viewing is recommended. 2018 Out of water survey available
Below decks is beautifully maintained and in very good order. The main cabin is accessed from the cockpit via a sliding hatch and twin washboard system. The washboards are the best maintained I have ever laid eyes on and positively gleam. This attention to detail carries on in the cabin, with a place for everything and everything in its place.
The woodwork is a combination of solid teak and teak veneer/marine ply bulkheads. The upholstery is comfortable, in good condition and finished in a nautical blue. The headlinings are wipe clean and bright which when coupled with the reglazed windows and deck hatches makes the feel of the cabin bright and airy. The interior lighting has recently been upgraded with LED bulbs.
This is one of the very few yachts from this era with an aft cabin. This space is bright and spacious with a hanging wardrobe to starboard and hull-mounted cubby hole storage. There are two opening ports into the cockpit allowing ventilation. This area is carpeted and has 12V lighting. Returning to the saloon and continuing on the starboard side is the L-shaped galley. the work surfaces have recently been replaced and are in excellent condition. There is a gas-fuelled Nelson oven with two-burner hob and separate grill. Top loading coolbox for perishables and a circular stainless steel sink with pressurised hot and cold water.
Opposite the galley is the chart table/navigation area. Here you will find the forward facing chart table with seat, chart storage, and drawer storage. Here is the 12V switch panel, Eberspacher heating controls, and chart reading light. There is a Yeoman chart reader, Garmin GPS, Simrad VHF, and emergency VHF aerial. Here you will find the 12/240V inverter with 3-pin socket.
Central drop leaved table with central bottle storage. Well upholstered settee/berths port and starboard, finished in blue dralon. Storage below each berth and hull mounted above the backrests.
Bow cabin with bi-folding privacy door. Double berth with additional infill cushion. Cupboard storage to starboard and hanging locker to port. Large escape/deck hatch for light and ventilation.
To the rear and aft of the chart table is the heads compartment. This area features a moulded sink unit with hot and cold pressurised mixer tap and storage cupboard below. There is a Jabsco marine toilet with "twist'n'lock" handle. All the toilet plumbing was replaced in the winter of 2014/15. Wet locker aft with zip close curtain.
