1983 Moody 29, designed by the legendary Angus Primrose and built by Marine Products Ltd. The Moody 29 is known for its robust construction, reliable sailing performance, and practical layout, making it the perfect yacht for both coastal cruising. With her excellent stability and seaworthiness she's ideal for sailors looking for a solid, comfortable cruiser that’s easy to handle and ready for adventure.
She features a skeg-hung rudder and iron fin keel for reliable handling in various sea conditions. The tiller steering comes with a spare tiller arm and extension for added confidence. Beyond her sails she's power by a Beta 20 diesel engine newly installed (2019) with just 650 hours on the clock, paired with a fixed propeller and shaft drive. The onboard 12V and 220V electrical systems are supported by a new 100 amp/h domestic battery (2023), and shore power is available for convenience at the dock.
Accommodation aboard is generous for a 29-foot yacht, sleeping six across two cabins and the saloon. The forward cabin offers a comfortable double V-berth, while the saloon features seating that converts into additional berths. A quarter berth adds further flexibility for crew or guests. The galley is fully equipped with a Plastimo Neptune 2000 cooker, oven, and grill, making meal prep a breeze, while an Eberspacher cabin heater ensures comfort on cooler nights.
Deck equipment includes a new sprayhood (2024), a Danforth bow anchor with 30 meters of chain, and Lewmar self-tailing winches for easy sail handling. The sail plan consists of a slab-reefed mainsail with lazy jacks and a roller-furling genoa, both easily managed from the cockpit. This Moody 29 is also equipped with modern navigation aids, including a Raymarine autopilot (new 2024), depth sounder, and speed/log, ensuring you are ready for your next voyage.
