Race Rigged Laser Standard or Radial
125612 is the third of 4 ILCAs I have owned, and is the one that got me back in to competitive Masters sailing. I am sorry to see her go but I now have a 20xxxx boat and 125612 is not getting used.
She is an old hull, but I refurbished and renewed her to modern racing spec including:
- High Purchase kicker assembly
- High purchase Cunningham
- Multi blocked outhaul, gate shackle for the clew.
- Zhik adjustable toe strap
- Aluminium high strength tiller (Laser branded - probably the old "Gorilla Tiller") and super long extension
- Modern traveller and mast retainer, modern aft blocks (the two-part-in-one block)
- New Nautus 57mm mainsheet block
- Modern control line deck block and turning blocks
This is really all you need to get club racing, with both Standard and Radial sails.
Please note the Kicker and Mainsheet block are not ILCA class compliant, but should be fine for club racing depending on your club rules. Both sails and the spars and foils are Laser/ILCA Class Compliant (clubs mainly tend to worry about the sails, if they do have compliance rules)
The sails are old but raceable. The Radial sail is newer and in better condition (has the red button and blue flash).
The only main "issue" with the boat is the cosmetic condition under the waterline. It has had patch repairs to gelcoat bubbles, the hull is sound and I have raced her including at ILCA events since the repair was done. You are unlikely to notice this when the boat is the right way up.
I will supply the boat with a Seitech trolly - not the galvanised trolly on the photos. I use the Seitech with my new boat as it is so light to use and gentle on the hull, but you cannot trail with the Seitech so I'm better off hanging on to the Galvanised trolley. I am however happy to deliver the boat (depending on distance!) and bring the Seitech trolley and boat to you. The photo of the Seitech is a brochure photo as that trolley is currently sitting under my other boat!
Other notes: foils old and worn but sound. I could never justify upgrading as going faster means just practising really. Cover worn but functional.
