Remarks:
In 1984 Hunter yachts UK upgraded their Cat Ketch rigged Liberty yacht range by increasing the ballast ratio up to 40% & increasing the sail area also. The already stable hull shape made the Hunter Liberty 23 model a better than ever shallow draft 3 berth cruising yacht for short handed & single handed sailing. There are just two ropes/sheets that control the two Bermudian style sails. Erecting the two reinforced alloy masts are simple & possible by one/two persons depending upon their physical ability. What sets this yacht apart from others is the ability to sail upwind in very shallow water with the plate fully raised. Plus the ability to dry out upright for anchoring & mooring or beaching. Add the ability to tow to other sailing areas & launch from the 4 wheel trolley keeping the braked road trailer out of the water. Making the HUNTER LIBERTY 23 a very well thought out British trailer sailer small yacht currently berthed ashore at Kirkcudbright Marina, SW Scotland
