The Dehler 39jv is the ideal combination of sailing performance and long distance cruising comfort, with a high quality interior in Cherry wood, two double cabins, and comfortable saloon.
Designed by Judel/Vrolijk as a powerful fast cruiser, introduced in 1996 and remained in production for almost 15 years, although renamed (with perhaps very minor alterations), the 39sc in 2004.
She is a moderately heavy boat for her size, but with the big rig she's very much at the high performance end of the cruiser and cruiser-racer spectrum. You can even sail her single-handed.
Avanti, in our ownership has been great fun to sail, and we've enjoyed many trips on the East coast of England, and Continental trips to France, Belgium and Holland. She has undergone a small refit over the years of our ownership, with over £20,000 spent on the following:
All new Dyform standing rigging (2021), most running rigging replaced, all new Batteries, 2x230AH ships, 1x100AH engine, 1x120AH bow thruster.
New Garmin Hydraulic Auto-pilot with remote, New Garmin 9'' Plotter and new full AIS system. New Seago 2.6mtr inflatable dingy. New feathering Darglo 3-blade propeller. Rudder bushes replaced. Sail-drive seal replaced, Engine partly overhauled and repainted. Engine compartment refurbished with new sound insulation. Plus lots of other items...
In 2021 when the mast was stepped, we also had the Topsides repainted, as the original blue was starting to fade.
Avanti comes with a sail wardrobe as follows: Carbon/laminated main and 110% jib, 2x spinnakers, 0.75oz and 1.5oz. Storm Jib and no4 Jib. original Dacron Mainsail. (the carbon 110% jib needs replacing due to UV damage).
Engine is a 40HP Yanmar diesel with sail-drive, seal replaced in 2019. Also installed is a Vetus Bow thruster. Fuel capacity is 110Ltrs.
Outside/On-deck, all the usual instrumentation and controls, powerful Windlass with about 80mtrs of chain plus warp. Small kedge anchor stored inside with chain and warp. Electric winch for halliards/reefing etc. All sail covers and spray-hood replaced in 2021/22. Separate forestay cover/bag for unprotected Jib. Cockpit cushions and Table. Gas bottle storage locker, three cockpit lockers, and a winter cover. Air-Breeze wind generator fitted.
The Interior has plenty of storage, with a large walk-in locker on the starboard side accessed through the Heads. As this is the two cabin version, the Heads has a large separate shower and wet locker. Water tank capacity is 260ltrs, and a small Holding tank in rear locker.
The Galley has a three burner gas Hob and Oven, large top access Fridge, double sinks and plenty of storage lockers. There are the usual items of cabin heating, LED lighting, and Shore power with large stepped battery charging with sockets and USB outlets. 300w mains inverter, Radio and tv Ariel installed.
All the usual safety equipment is on board, along with fenders, lines, boat hooks etc.
There are probably items I've forgotten to mention, so please get in touch with any questions or sensible offers.
She is currently moored in a Tidal Marina in North Kent.
