1958 Bjarne Aas IOD

Uffa Fox once described International One Designs as lovely little ships, with lines as elegant as a smelts.

They are indeed beautiful with long overhangs creating graceful lines evoking the larger classic sailing yachts of the 1930s when the IOD was conceived.

This example built in 1958 in Norway was one of the last to be built in wood with subsequent yachts being constructed in fibreglass.

She has been well maintained by her home boatyard, recent (August 24) haul out, scrub, anti foul and engine service.

She would benefit from more regular use which time and distance have precluded under present ownership.
