Lower Upnor Kent UK
The Coaster is a long range cruising boat. Tough steel construction, wide side decks and low seaworthy profile all contribute to her long distance seagoing ability and designed to Cat B standard
Steelwork is of heavier build than many vessels of this size. Protection and safety are a priority when undertaking adventurous voyages and steel has the strength and resilience for hard knocks! The hull form is of a hardchine type and will operate efficiently at displacement speeds of up to 8.5 knots.
The Coaster has a low enough air draft to cruise the vast majority of Continental waterways.
Professionally constructed in 2007 she has since been fitted out to a high standard and used primarily as a house boat capable of cruising extensively. As such she is as new. She has the profile of a little ship and on her last passage motored well into 24 knots of wind at a cruising speed of 7 knots. The wheel house has good vision and excellent navigation equipment. This includes Ray Marine G series charting and HD radar displayed through two monitors, two DSC VHF radios and one hand held. AIS transponder/receiver, autopilot, depth, fluxgate compass display and wind information. She steers well and her hardchine form makes her stable and comfortable under way. She is highly manoeuvrable in port with a powerful bow thruster. Her engineering and electrical systems are second to none. The engine has only 42 hours on the clock!. Externally the vessel has been epoxy painted with three layers.
Aft there is a spacious cabin with a double bed plus many cupboards and drawers. Forward of the wheel house is the main saloon and galley which are light and airy with plenty of portholes and skylight. The galley has good work surfaces and cupboards. It has a microwave, sink, propane hob, oven and grill together with a fridge and freezer. Also a washer/drier machine. Moving forward the heads are spacious having a bath, shower, washbasin and electric toilet. Forward again there is the second cabin with double bed. All the interior is fitted to the highest standard with spray foam insulation throughout. Heating can be supplied by electric heaters throughout, a wood burning stove in the saloon or webasto heating.
A comfortable, sturdy little ship capable of being a home and/or cruising at sea or most inland estuaries and rivers including continental European waterways.
