'Blue Bird' is a fine example of the entry level cruiser from Bavaria. She has a lot of good features in her 8 meter hull, including 6 generous berths, 1.80M headroom, galley and seperate heads. She has a great cockpit and even features wheel steering. Her current owner has lovingly maintained her and anyone who purchases her will have trouble free boating for many years. This is an ideal entry level, dip your toe yacht, or will appeal to those wishing to downsize.
The interior is virtually brand new with headlinings replaced, new veneers to cabinet work and all upholstery replaced. As well as being fully rewired in 2023, the cabin lights were replaced and all the galley equipment was renewed.
Reliable inboard Nanni N2:10 diesel installed in 2015. NEW electronics including wind instrument, AIS and B&G plotter.
Standing rigging was replaced in 2020 along with a new furler.
The list is endless and 'Blue Bird' will not disappoint.
Mechanical
Vessel is powered by an inboard Nanni N2.10 diesel engine. This 2-cylinder, 10 hp unit was installed in 2015. Engine undergoes a service annually at the end of each season.
TMC40P Twin Disc reduction gearbox driving a stainless steel shaft and 2-bladed fixed propeller.
Engine is situated beneath the cockpit sole watertight compartment. Single lever engine control.
Electrical
12/240V systems with a bank of 2x12V batteries fitted with a rotary style selector switch. Digital display informs of battery levels at a glance. Batteries recharged via engine alternator and onboard battery charger.
Illuminated 12V switch panel at chart table. Full rewire in 2023. All new LED lighting throughout.
Rigging
Deck stepped aluminium mast and boom with main sheet track mounted aft. Stainless steel standing rigging replaced in 2020. All running rigging replaced in 2024.
Plastimo roller furling headsail system installed new in 2020 at same time as standing rigging.
Slab reefing main with two reefing points.
All lines led aft to cockpit.
Sails include roller furling genoa and semi battened mainsail.

Accommodation
Below decks is remarkably spacious given her 8 metre length and every available inch of space has been put to good use. The interior has been virtually refurbed without losing the Bavaria DNA. All woodwork has been either varnished or re-veneered. The headlining and hull linings have all been replaced. All upholstery including the foam has been renewed. The mattrasses in the forward cabin are bespoke. All interior wiring and lighting has been replaced. All galley equipment is brand new in 2023.
The main saloon is entered via the sliding companionway hatch and washboard system. Two steps down and to starboard is the refurbished galley with oval stainless steel sink, folding fresh water tap and sink cover. Gas fuelled Aqua Chef 2-burner stove with grill. Dometic, blue-tooth operated fridge for keeping the beers cold. Aft is a quarter berth.
Opposite the galley is the heads compartment with Jabsco sea toilet. Pull down sink with cold water tap.
Saloon with horseshoe seating area to starboard. Opposite on port side is an additional settee. The forward end doubles as a chart table seat.
Chart table with chart desk and switch panel. 12V switches for onboard equipment. Head height lockers port and starboard.
Forecabin with full height mattrasses. Opening deck hatch for ventilation.
LED lighting throughout.
Construction
GRP constructed sailing yacht with fin keel and counter hung rudder. Underwater areas were taken back to gelcoat, epoxied and antifouled. Hull topsides were sanded back primed and sprayed with Top-Lac paint. Attractive upper blue band for contrast.
All decks and cockpit sole fitted in Treadmaster panels. Cockpit with locker stowage port and starboard. Deck drains, Stainless steel bow and stern rails conjoined by double set guard wires.
Hull portlights replaced in 2022.
