Olla is a beautifully maintained, fantastically kitted out boat with a fully modernised and upgraded inventory. She was intended as our ‘boat for life’ so we have spent £20,00 on her in the last three years. We have realised we need a bigger boat (which we have now purchased!), so we need to sell. Whoever buys this boat will get a boat which needs no work, no new kit and is completely ready to go. Someone will get a bargain.
She is fitted with the larger 30hp engine, shoal draft keel, and slab reefing with single line reefing renewed in 2024. She has two double sleeping cabins a spacious saloon, a large galley and great storage throughout.
She had new standing rigging in 2019. In 2023 we installed a full new modern Raymarine instrumentation and electronics package (cost: £13,984). This included an Axiom 9 plotter with separate key pad, i70s instruments x 2, and bowthruster controls all at the helm (and i70s and ST60 repeater on companionway bulkhead), new ICOM DSC radio with a command mike at the helm, a new Sidepower SE60 bow thruster, 4G internet router with dual antenna and dual sim router, galvanic isolator, and a 40W solar panel with Victron MPPT regulator on the coach roof.
The saildrive diaphragm was changed in 2024. Running rigging was replaced throughout in 2024. She has excellent sails (2020), feathering (Featherstream) propeller, diesel heating, electric windlass, internet TV (2025). New Neptune 4500 cooker (2025) New fridge compressor (2024). She has a full cockpit enclosure, holding tank, stainless steel davits, Lagun teak cockpit table and many other small upgrades. She was a good boat when we bought her for £57k 3 years ago and we have upgraded her to a superb standard.
Olla has been worked on steadily and consistently throughout the three years of our ownership and she is solid as a rock. Everything has been tested, maintained and upgraded as necessary. A good example is the fuel tank, which in the standard Bavaria 36 has fuel pipe joined to the tank by a 'push fit'. This can come out in heavier weather, a well known fault but on Olla we have installed custom made machined intake and outtake threaded fittings (see pictures). At the same time, we also installed two high spec metal inspection hatches (see pictures). It is unlikely you will find another Bavaria 36 maintained to this standard.
If you want a fully equipped and modernised Bavaria 36, then this is the boat for you. The first serious buyer to view her will buy her.

In 2025 the fuel tank was upgraded with installation of two high grade metal inspection hatches and replacement of the standard 'push fit' fuel outtake with a custom made metal fitting (see pictures below). Bavarias are good boats, but as 'production models' they have weaknesses (eg no fuel tank inspection hatches) and our work on the fuel tank is a good example of the upgrading work we have done to iron out such issues to make the make the boat bullet-proof.
