"Mr A Primrose never designed a duff yacht, or if he did, no-one showed it to me! Well thought out, strongly built, sea-kindly and secure yachts like the Truman 30 mark out what was perhaps the heyday of British yacht building. Built today they would be eye-wateringly expensive compared to the foreign built offerings designed for a Mediterranean charter market or South German lakes. Th...

I’ve owned Kittiwake for the last 9 years and is in excellent condition. She is easy to sail, has enough cockpit space for 3-6 adults and I’ve done many weekends away. Ready for the 2024 season
Very good looking boat with dreadnought bow and open transom – she goes as well as she looks!! Lifting keel means draught of 12inches – no skin fittings – she can creek crawl and take the ground.
The comfort version comes with a water tank, sink and tap and a camping cooker. There is a v berth and two singles.
The boat has many upgrades:
- new Crusader main and G...

For Sale, our family boat Sandpiper. We have been in possession of her since march 2021, however in Jan 2023 we moved away from the south coast. At the same time we had our second baby… needless to say our ambitions to get back down to the boat regularly have just not worked out.
Quite honestly, she has been neglected since the move and it is time she got a new home!
I had the engine removed and rebuilt over the last winter (details below), the engine is back in the boat and we did have her running, but the engine mounts require replacement before she can be ran in.
Given we are sel...

Built by Thames Marine, the Mirage 28 was an extremely popular bilge keel family cruiser from the 1970s. The design of the interior utilises the available space very well. ‘Millie B’ is a well designed, sturdily built gaff rigged cutter with a long shallow keel and lifting centreplate. She has twin headsails with roller reefing and a large main that can be reefed from the self-draining cockpit. She is comfortable and safe to sail.
She is powered by a reliable and economical Yanmar 1GM10 inboard engine which also charges batteries for the 12v electrical system.
At 22 feet she is only three feet longer than a Cornish Shrimper, but the designer has managed to pack in many comforts while still maintaining a feeling of spaciousness.

The Miller Fifer was a very successful range of motor sailers, built by James Miller and Sons of St Monance, Scotland. Millers were a long established firm passing through several generations with a proud reputation for building fine fishing boats up to 70’ or so.
The yard also built a number of large yachts before the war and continued with yacht building in the 1950s and 1960s with the Fifer range. The Fifers had a direct lineage to the fishing boats built by the yard and, in their various sizes were built with the same massive scantlings as the fishing boats.
